All-Ceramic Dental Restorations in Coeur d’Alene
In most cases, the line between cosmetic and restorative dentistry is clear, but at Orban Family Dental, we think that a restoration isn’t complete unless a patient’s smile is fully restored to natural function and appearance. That’s why, among the variety of materials we use as part of our restorative dentistry services, we’re also happy to offer all-ceramic restorations. All-ceramic restorations allow Dr. Filip Orban and his skilled dental team to provide superior restorations that look and feel more like natural teeth. Even porcelain bonded to metal fillings develop noticeable dark lines over time, but all-ceramic crowns, inlays, and onlays are shaded to exactly match surrounding teeth and have reflective properties that closely mimic the natural appearance of tooth enamel. Additionally, all ceramic restorations are durable and stain resistant, giving patients beautifully restored smiles that last for years to come.
In addition to looking more natural and providing restorations that last for a decade or more, all-ceramic restorations have a number of other benefits, including:
- Improved biocompatibility for those patients who have sensitivities to metal! Not even gold or zirconia restorations are able to provide a higher level of biocompatibility than all-ceramic restorations.
- Better translucency and improved reflective qualities for a more beautiful appearance. The entire tooth is made from a consistently shaded block of ceramic to most closely mimic the way tooth enamel absorbs and reflects light for a sparkling, glittering smile
- Less likely to damage surrounding teeth than metallic restorations that expand and contract due to changes in the temperature, possibly damaging surrounding teeth or breaking from the treated tooth
