Dr. Orban

Filip Orban, DDS

If you’ve spent any length of time with Dr. Orban, you likely witnessed his passion for and commitment to helping people—whether by relieving pain, helping people improve their oral health, or creating a smile they are proud of. For Dr. Orban, the most rewarding part of dentistry is making a positive difference in a person’s life and in the community at large.

WHY HE BECAME A
Dr. Orban knew he wanted to become a dentist in sixth grade. He witnessed the impact that his uncle’s success as a dentist had on his immediate and extended family, and he decided he was going to be just like him when he grew up! After shadowing multiple dentists and specialists, he realized that general dentistry was the best match for him. Dentistry brings together science, medicine, and technology in a discipline that is both innovative and hands on. General dentistry, in particular, provides both variety and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients. For Dr. Orban, buiding connections of trust is the most rewarding part of his work, as he feels energized by and finds fulfillment in positive interactions with patients.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Dr. Orban earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Southern Adventist University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University. He has been in private practice for over 10 years, and is licensed to practice in both Idaho and Washington.

Dr. Orban is passionate about staying up to date with the latest advancements in dentistry in order to provide the best possible care to his patients. In his practice, he offers CEREC same-day crowns via CAD/CAM software, cone beam CT scan imaging, and guided implant surgery, among other cutting-edge services. Furthermore, Dr. Orban has been a part of the Implant Northwest study club for the past 13 years and has taken multiple courses in implant placement and bone grafting techniques. He is a member of the American Dental Association®, Idaho State Dental Association, Idaho Panhandle Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry.

LIFE OUTSIDE THE PRACTICE
Dr. Orban and his wife Manuela, a nurse practitioner, cherish family time with their six year old daughter Noelle and three year old son Matisse. They feel so blessed to live in beautiful North Idaho and enjoy every season. They go on walks and to the park often, and in the summer Dr. Orban loves to go boating (he calls his boat “The SSRI”). Dr. Orban has a heart for those less fortunate and regularly takes part in outreach projects that bring dental services to underserved communities and mission trips.

Amanda Patterson, DDS

If you’ve spent any time with Dr. Patterson, you’ll quickly notice her calm, thoughtful approach and genuine interest in getting to know her patients. She believes great dentistry starts with trust, clear communication and a personalized plan that supports both oral health and confidence in one’s smile. With a strong attention to detail and a caring, family-focused mindset, Dr. Patterson is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable, informed and proud of their smiles — at every stage of life.

Why She Became a Dentist

Dr. Patterson’s path to dentistry began early, inspired by a childhood orthodontist who took the time to show her how things were made behind the scenes. Watching him fabricate retainers in his lab sparked a lasting interest in hands-on, detail-oriented work and how small, precise changes can have a big impact. With a natural aptitude for working with her hands and a love of problem-solving, dentistry became the perfect blend of creativity, science and patient care. Today, she finds great fulfillment in helping patients feel comfortable, confident and well cared for — one smile at a time.

Educational Background

Dr. Patterson grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in bioengineering. She went on to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, followed by an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency. Her education and extensive clinical experience have shaped a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to care, with a strong emphasis on quality, precision and patient comfort.

Life Outside the Practice

Outside of the office, Dr. Patterson enjoys a life rooted in family and the outdoors. She loves spending time with her family, baking, gardening, hiking and camping, and she has a deep appreciation for everything North Idaho has to offer. These interests help keep her grounded and balanced, and she brings that same warmth, care and attention to detail into her relationships with patients and colleagues alike.
